If you’ve had the privilege of picking up the Children’s book, Cornucopia, you’ll see what everyone is talking about. You’ll see that there is no book on the market right now that is as clever, witty and meaningful for your elementary kids than this book. You’ll wish that it was out when you were a kid. You’ll wish that your kids would read it and you’ll see that they are already in love with it. We are excited to say that we got the chance to talk to author Bridget Renshaw about this book and what she is up to now.
Cornucopia is spreading across the grid and people are raving about it. There are currently 75 Amazon.com reviews for the Cornucopia book, they are all 5-star reviews, and they all rave about how interesting, unique and enjoyable this book of about 140 poems is to read.
One reviewer states, “Cornucopia is a magnificent collection of poems which are quite hilarious, super cute and deep. I read these poems along with my niece. She absolutely fell in love with these and to be honest, I think I liked them more.”
We chatted with author Bridget Renshaw who says that she is enjoying all the positive feedback from the book.
“I poured my heart into this book, my childhood heart. It’s so special to hear how much children are loving it,” Renshaw said.
Originally from Allen, TX, Renshaw moved to Los Angeles, CA seven years ago to pursue her creative dreams. She’s a writer, a comedian, and a VoiceOver artist. She has always wanted to write a children’s book of poetry.
“I’ve been writing poems, songs and raps since I was a very little girl. I loved the way you could play with rhyming words and create a poetry piece that bounces off of your tongue. I feel like poetry makes the words meaningful and fun. I’ve wanted to write this book for as long as I remember,” Renshaw said.
Renshaw recently visited her hometown and did some book readings in the area. She read to children elementary age and younger at the Interurban Railway Museum in Plano, TX and the Museum of the American Railroad in Frisco, TX.
“It was so much fun to do readings so close to my C2hometown. I was able to see old friends who came with their children and meet some new fans of the book. The staff at the museums were so wonderful and welcoming, it was fun to see what a great community they have for children,” Renshaw said.
Kirby Stokes, Director of Education at The Museum of the American Railroad said that they were happy to have her.
“It was such a pleasure to have Bridget perform at the Museum of the American Railroad. She was so good at engaging the children and making sure everyone had fun! We look forward to having Ms Renshaw join us again,” she said.
Renshaw’s current projects include writing a comedy sketch show called Hollywood Hustle that she will also be performing in for The Second City in Hollywood, CA. The show will be going up in September. She is also working on another book of children’s poetry. We are all looking forward to it.
